Hair Care Tips

Below are tips on how to care for your Xensi Styles Hair Collection LLC unit:
-Brush the unit hair from the end, up to the root to reduce shedding and to remove any knots or tangles.
-Sulfate-Free Products are best
-If you wear your unit daily you should wash it 2x a month.
-If you are in a pool or an ocean the salt water/chlorine water can cause the hair to dry out; which will cause tangles and shedding. It is best to wash your hair out and deep condition it to keep it moisturized.
-To prevent stringy, weighed down hair, do not overuse product.
-Protect your unit from heat by using a small amount of heat protectant spray.
How to wash your hair:
-Wash the unit with a hydrating shampoo and moisturizing conditioner.
-Rinse the hair with warm water
-Do not scrub the hair together because that causes tangles.
-Rub the shampoo in your hands Lay the wig flat or hold it up right, then apply shampoo to the hair in a downward motion.
-Once you have completed the step mentioned above, rinse the hair out with cold water.
-Put a generous amount of conditioner in your hand, rub your hands together (with the conditioner), then apply it to the unit
-Next, use a wide tooth comb to comb through the hair, while the conditioner is still in the hair, be sure to let the conditioner sit for 5 minutes.
- Rinse the unit that contains conditioner with cold water until the water is clear; which indicates all conditioner has been completely rinsed off.
-Finally comb through the hair and let it air dry.

Colored hair tips:
-Use a color safe shampoo and conditioner to help your colored units keep its color longer.
-Semi-Permanent hair color is used so the color will fade over time.
-Washing the hair with cold water will help reduce color bleeding and will allow the color to stay longer.
Curly hair tips:
-Curly hair is very high maintenance.
-Due to friction, heat, and clothes most tangling can occur in the nape of the hair/neck. Keeping this area moisturized will aid in preventing this.
-Your curly units have to stay moisturized.
-You can fill a spray bottle with water and moisturizing conditioner, spray the hair, then gently brush through it.
-If you brush or comb dry curly hair it can cause it to puff up and shed more.
Shedding tips:
-Minimal shedding occurs with all hair. Even your real head sheds naturally. --------Shedding occurs more often with curly and 613 hair.
-Units that have been bleached and 613 units are chemically processed so these units are more prone to shedding.
-It is very important to keep your processed units moisturized.
-If you do not take your units off your head make sure you wrap it with a silk scarf or bonnet when you sleep. If you would not like to use those two items, a silk pillow case is recommended. Regardless of the pillow case it is best to wrap your hair.
-If you take your unit off at night you can keep it in a bag or on your mannequin head. Before going to sleep it is best to comb through your unit to get rid of tangles.
Lace Maintenance:
-Absolutely do not scratch your lace.
-Hair on the lace naturally begins to thin over time so you scratching it can put a hole in the lace and can also cause the lace to bald prematurely.
-Due to the use of glue, hairspray, and gel in order to style the hair, overtime thinning will happen.
-Lace replacement is suggested every 6 months.
